Key Responsibilities:

  • Capture, produce, and edit photo and video content using smartphones, cameras, microphones, lighting, and basic production tools.
  • Develop social-first content for platforms such as LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube Shorts, and other priority channels, including captions, thumbnails, hooks, transitions, music, and platform-specific formats.
  • Write and edit clear, engaging, brand-appropriate copy for digital, social, web, print, and internal communications.
  • Adapt product launches, partnerships, public relations moments, community involvement, employee stories, career opportunities, events, and larger marketing campaigns into compelling content for multiple audiences.
  • Support the planning, scheduling, and maintenance of the content and social media calendar across priority platforms.
  • Monitor social media channels for comments, messages, mentions, reviews, and community conversations, escalating or responding as appropriate to support positive engagement.
  • Track content performance and prepare basic reporting on reach, engagement, views, watch time, follower growth, top-performing posts, and content opportunities.
  • Monitor social media trends, creator formats, platform updates, competitor activity, and industry best practices to recommend relevant content ideas.
  • Support SEO and GEO-focused content initiatives by helping create content that improves visibility, discoverability, and audience relevance.
  • Maintain organized photo, video, creative, and content asset libraries for ongoing marketing use.
  • Ensure content aligns with Northern Bank’s brand standards, compliance requirements, tone, visual identity, and messaging priorities.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, English, Digital Media, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 1–3 years of experience in content creation, social media, digital marketing, communications, video production, or a related role.
  • Portfolio that demonstrates personally created and edited content across multiple formats, such as video, photography, social media, web copy, email, blogs, or campaign materials.
  • Strong writing, editing, proofreading, and storytelling skills, with the ability to adapt tone and format by audience and channel.
  • Hands-on experience capturing and editing photo and video content, including short-form social video.
  • Experience with creative and editing tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Canva, CapCut, Final Cut Pro, or similar platforms.
  • Good eye for pacing, framing, sound, captions, thumbnails, motion, visual polish, and brand consistency.
  • Working knowledge of major social media platforms, including LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube Shorts, and emerging content formats.
  • Basic understanding of content performance metrics, social analytics, SEO concepts, and digital campaign reporting.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and collaborate across departments.
  • Sound judgment, attention to detail, and ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and confidentiality.

  • Basic motion graphics, animation, or graphic design skills.
  • Familiarity with paid social creative best practices and digital advertising formats.
  • Experience with social media scheduling and analytics tools such as Sprout Social, Hootsuite, Later, Buffer, HubSpot, or native platform analytics.
